Combine These Treatments and Transform Your Skin

I meet dozens of new clients each month at my spa. Each person has a different goal or condition to tackle, but one question is always the same- “How fast can you fix it?” Usually the answer to that question depends on more than one factor. It depends on how much damage there is to correct and how severe the condition is to begin with.

Let’s take acne for instance, most clients have suffered from acne and the side effects for years. By the time a person finds Skin Bar most have tried a plethora of over-the-counter cremes and prescription medications to control it with mixed results. While our technology and combination therapy for acne is very successful it can take several months to see clear improvement.

Another big one is sun damage. We can treat it and correct the damage for sure, but it takes time. After all, that sun damage didn’t occur after one long day hanging by the pool.

Solutions require two things: consistency and time.

Sticking to a treatment plan and schedule of treatments is critical to success. That is why I invented the membership concept for skin care in NYC. Monthly services drop into each member account on the same day of the month reminding them that it’s time for a visit. Add time to consistency and within six months we can reveal the beautiful skin that lies beneath the surface and make our clients glow. After that its maintenance and prevention.

While there is no single service that achieves perfection in one treatment, there are combinations of treatments that make a big impression right out of the gate. Combination treatments work so well together that the results and improvement in skin is undeniable and, in some cases, remarkable. Just with one treatment. A series of treatments follows, and results are cumulative. Here they are.

Skin Bar Custom Facial & Laser Genesis

Performed in one ninety-minute session these services complement each other perfectly. Leaving your skin bright, glowing and dewy.

A facial customized to your skin’s specific needs prepares the dermis for what’s next. But first, we perform a deep cleanse, followed by steam and extractions. At halftime, a relaxing massage (this doesn’t improve your complexion but does wonders for your state of mind) while a skin specific masque works its magic.

With squeaky clean pores and the layer of ruddy dead skin cells whisked away your skin is ready for Laser Genesis. You see after a facial your best skin is exposed and that makes it easier for the laser energy to penetrate and do its work.

Laser Genesis uses low YAG energy to heat the upper layers of your skin, which stimulates collagen regrowth. This result improves fine lines, minimizes pore size, evens out skin tone and reduces redness.

The treatment is about a half an hour and it feels like laying in tanning bed. After you get up from your treatment your skin will feel tighter, look brighter and fine lines will appear smoother.

This combination treatment is my go to for clients concerned with:
Fine lines and Wrinkles.
Uneven skin tone and large pores.
Redness and Rosacea.

Fraxel C&B & Dermaplane Facial

For the clients who present hyperpigmentation and sun damaged skin this combination will knock your socks off! Fraxel C&B is Fraxel laser treatment that resurfaces the skin and super charges cellular turnover. Some clients require a couple of days of social downtime, but the outcome is well worth it.

Unlike the combined facial and Laser genesis, Fraxel is done as a stand-alone treatment. The Dermaplane facial will follow 10 days later.

Clients arrive 45 minutes prior to the start of the service. After a deep cleanse we apply a light gel to prep the skin. The gel takes about 30 minutes to take effect. The laser treatment is quick lasting about 20 minutes and feels like an IPL treatment. We use a blower that forces cold air on the skin being treated for optimal comfort. Immediately after laser, skin feels warm and appears flushed. A cooling masque can be applied to reduce the skins temperature and add hydration to bring down redness. Redness usually dissipates within a couple of hours.

Now that the Fraxel C&B is finished we need to give your skin some time to calm and recover. After a ten day rest your ready for your Dermaplane facial. This is one of the most popular services at Skin Bar. The Dermaplane is combined with C&B because we want to exfoliate and remove any residual dead cells that might linger post treatment. Dermaplane also hydrates and brightens the skin.

Dermaplane is a 60 minute service performed using a sterile surgical blade bent at a 45-degree angle to sweep away dirt, oil, dead cells and peach fuzz. We follow this mechanical exfoliation with a Skinceuticals MICROPEEL. This mild clinical grade peel contains Niacin and Lactic Acid gently exfoliating and decongesting pores while hydrating the skin.

The result is undeniable. After one combination treatment clients notice brighter tighter skin. Sun damage and discoloration is improved, the appearance of pores is diminished, and texture is smooth as silk.

This combination treatment is my go to for clients concerned with:
Sun damage and discoloration.
Overall improvement in the appearance of one’s skin.
Preventing the signs of aging.
Large pores and texture.

While there is no silver bullet to reversing the signs of aging or damage caused over decades, there are combination treatments that can achieve meaningful and significant improvements with one treatment- giving you the confidence that a solution is well under way.

But, don’t take my word for it. Call and book your combination treatment today and see for yourself. Not sure which is right for you? No problem. Call us and let our Skinticians customize a combination treatment plan for you.
