I took my skin for granted. Although I had acne growing up, after it cleared, I enjoyed a even skin tone. Until the day I turned 36. My skin insistently became “aged” looking. Although, having a baby, and receiving a pregnancy mask as a take home gift, I’m sure, added to my present situation.
I would soon come to find out that it’s discoloration, not wrinkles, that makes your skin look the oldest!
I was at my wits end. My baby was already a year old, and my face was still streaked with discoloration. I decided to do Fraxel Duel at Skin Bar. There are several types of Fraxel, but Fraxel Dual is designed to reduce discoloration.
I am a wimp when it comes to pain, but as in most things, the treatment wasn’t as bad as my imagination made it out to be. Here’s a mini play-by-play
1. The first thing they do is put numbing cream all over your face that looks and feels like Vaseline. Then you sit back catch up on your reading for about 45min. (That’s how long it takes for the numbing cream to take effect.)
2. The procedure only takes about 25 min. It hurts, but it’s not unbearable. Some areas are more sensitive, like under the eye, thus hurting more. They do eight passes. The first few passes you don’t feel much, but by the time you are on the eight pass your definitely feeling it.
3. After the procedure was done. I looked like a lobster. The discoloration that had been torturing me had grown darker before it started to flake off. I looked like a molted bird. ( I’m not being modest here. ) It took about five days before I could see the final the result. Needless to say I was very pleased, and surprised.
4. The results in these pictures were achieved in two treatments.
5. To protect my results I always wear sunblock. On a cloudy, rainy day, I wear sunblock.
6. My experience included a bonus. Skin bar told me, but I didn’t believe, that Fraxel dual stimulates college production. This improves the texture of your skin. Besides getting rid of the discoloration, my skin was smoother and the pore size appeared smaller.
