Let’s get Lightened, Brightened and Tightened

Another summer has come to an end, ushering in the dull days winter. But, before that happens Fall happens first. That means you have a terrific opportunity to give your skin care regimen a tune-up. Just because the weather grows dull in the winter doesn’t mean you have to.

You may be asking yourself, how do I keep my skin light and bright as the summer season? Skin Bar has the answer. As the colder months creep in so does the buildup of dead skin cells that make your skin look dull. This is the time of year when exfoliation is necessary and a little extra oomph of L.B.T- as we like to call it at Skin Bar – Lighten, Brighten and Tighten. Skin Bar is your one-stop-shop for the the treatments and products you need to get hooked up with some L.B.T. In fact , these products are among our top sellers all year round!

The product line is called Illuma, from IMAGE Skincare. And we enlisted Jessi our Clinical Manager, to share a few facts about what makes this line so popular and special.

Why do you like the Illuma line from IMAGE?

Illuma products are some of my favorite by IMAGE Skincare because they are used to treat pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and redness. Hyperpigmentation is a growing concern in clients and it is difficult to treat. The Illuma line allows them to treat it not only with professional treatments, but aids in helping to treat hyperpigmentation/uneven skin tone at home safely and effectively.

What makes the Illuma line different?

In the past clients have had to get a prescription from their physician to effectively treat, dark spots or hyperpigmentation, but prescriptions have side effects like lightening the skin too much or causing hypopigmentation. IMAGE Skincare has incorporated the use of natural lighteners and exfoliators in the Illuma line,in turn, reducing the risk of an adverse reaction. The Illuma line contains Kojic acid a natural lightener and brightener and Vitamin C a natural exfoliator and lightener. Image skincare also uses vectorize technology in a lot of their products including the Illuma line which delivers a complex of encapsulated ingredients for 48 hours which helps with a long lasting and intense effect.

Does the Illuma line work for everyone?

These products are great for all skin types, and anyone looking for a nice, healthy glow! I usually recommend them to my clients who want to lighten existing hyperpigmentation and redness caused by rosacea, or prevent future hyperpigmentation because the Illuma line helps to suppress melanocyte activity.

Which product in the Illuma line is your favorite?

I love the Intense Brightening Serum. It’s great for all skin types and perfectly calms the skin . I typically recommend it for my clients that have rosacea, sun damaged, irritated, or sensitive skin as part of their morning and evening regimen. It’s a lightweight, oil-free serum that treats skin discolorations and redness. A blend of botanical lighteners, vitamin C and grape seed extract gently reduces inflammation promoting a clear, fresh-looking complexion.
