Start this summer skin care routine today

The fireworks are over and summer is here. Finally! Summer might be the season we all long for, but it can also wreak havoc on your skin. It’s time for a checkup. Skin Bar recommends a skin check-up 4 times a year at the start of each season. Why? As the seasons change our skin requirements change, and our complexion with it. So, you need to stay in tune with the seasons to ensure consistently smooth skin. Here’s how to do it.

Skin Bar’s Fit Skin Photo Booth.

Analyze this.

If you are a Skin Bar member schedule a complimentary Fit Skin Analysis. Your skin care specialist will use 3-D visual tools to analyze 8 specific features of your skin including texture, pores, UV spots and hydration. This is also a great time to review the progress of your skin’s health since you became a member.
A facial is another great way to find out how your skin is responding to the change in weather. Every facial starts with a skin analysis. Your skin professional will evaluate your skin for problem areas. Typically, an analysis will reveal overproduction of oil in the t-zone area for instance, or pores that are clogged due to accumulation of dirt and sweat as the weather gets warmer and city traffic kicks up more pollution.

stay-hydrated! Everybodies doing it!

Let’s drink.

Shiny skin is not the only problem summer weather produces. It’s very common for clients to exhibit dehydrated skin in the summer as well. It isn’t as noticeable as the blinding sheen on your forehead, but it is more dangerous. When we perspire we release moisture through our skin. Unless it is replenished the skin becomes dehydrated, leading to a dull, droopy finish. So, drink lots of water. Your skin is counting on it.

Don’t be like this guy.

Just do it.

Sunscreen is the most unappreciated skin care product I can think of. But, it is the only thing that is clinically proven to slow down the signs of aging. So, just do it!
It is important to note however, that summer time requires a change in the moisturizer and sunscreen you use. It’s time to go lightweight. Heavier products tend to clog the pores in the summer as they don’t penetrate quite as effectively through the dermis. Personally, I taper my routine to a product that is a moisturizer and a SPF all in one.

Follow these tips. Be rest assured.

Put it to bed.

Your nighttime routine should include a mask one or two times a week in the summer. Depending on your skin type you may need a calming mask if you suffer from rosacea, or a clay mask if you tend to be in the oily side. This is will help regulate your skin to keep it consistent throughout the season.
Summer can be one of the hardest seasons to regulate your skin condition. These easy tips will make a huge difference in your appearance during the summer. Want a personalized summer routine? Call Skin Bar for a complimentary Fit Skin Analysis.
